My amazing husband and I have been married 15 years (almost) We met on a blind date and life hasn't been the same since.  Nate wasted no time purposing and we were married five months later.  Ten months later our first beautiful daughter Kelsey born.  Nate had served an LDS Mission to Guatemala for two years after high school.  So it had been awhile since he had been in school and at first he was struggling to find the right study skills.  He has always wanted to go into the medical field so it was important for him to gain the skills he needed.  As much has I've given him a hard time about our military life, it truly was my suggestion way back then, to look into the military to give him a head start.  Now in my defense I was picturing Reserves, so he could get his foot in the door but that's not what happened.
We had worked with a recruiter and Nate was to go and take some tests in Salt Lake to see what his skills were.  Now I mentioned before that college had been tricky for him and testing wasn't his forte.  Well this paticuler day the Lord gave him the peace and knowledge he needed, for he did very well and they were very impressed with him.  They suggested that he pursue the medical field but all that was available was for active duty.  So he gives me a call and tells me the news, very doubtful that I would agree to that route.  To both of our surprises I said well let's see maybe this might be good for a little while.  He proceeded to tell me the places that were availble to go.  New York, Kansas, Florida and then he said oh and there's Germany but you wouldn't choose that.  I think I surprised both of us when I said why wouldn't I?  I told him wow this is a lot to process, come home and we'll think and pray about it.  Nate said ummm well I actually have to make a decision right now!  I was floored, how could we make such a BIG decision right there over the phone.  We decided to both get off for a few minutes and pray about it and then we'd talk it over.  I don't remember those five minutes but I do remember when we both got back on the phone and said active duty and Germany.  Wow we just made the BIGGEST decision ever!!!  I had no idea what this all entailed right then.  And like most things it was probably a good day because I would of proabably run away! :)
